CCSD Students Earn Honors for Technology Skills

Seven Cherokee County School District students earned honors for their technology skills!

Sponsored by the CCSD’s Technology and Information Services division, the Adobe Express Challenge is a challenge held every quarter for students in all grades to demonstrate their creativity and digital skills.

For the first quarter’s challenge, students were tasked with selecting a character, recording their voice and adding graphics to create an animated video introducing themselves.  The graphics and text included elements such as the student's name, one academic goal for the year and one personal goal for the year.  Students were judged in grade bands.  Certificates and ribbons were presented to the winners.

The winners are: first-place, first-grader Klaouse Isaac Thomas of Indian Knoll ES (teacher Andrea Smith), fourth-grader Jameson Kirk of Boston ES (teacher Alicia Kirk) and ninth-grader Alexander Jackson of Sequoyah HS (teacher Amanda Fuder); second place, fifth-grader Azalea Grace Swenson of Hickory Flat ES (teachers Tina Plousis and Karina Dean) and ninth-grader Alex O'Sullivan of Sequoyah HS (Ms. Fuder); and third place, fourth-grader Bryce Gilbert (Ms. Kirk) and ninth-grader John Allen Graham of Sequoyah HS (Ms. Fuder).

“Congratulations to these winners for creatively showing us their outstanding technology skills,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “Thank you to our winners’ teachers for their excellent instruction and to our Technology and Information Services team for sponsoring this opportunity.  We want every student to graduate future ready and part of that readiness is understanding technology and how to use it effectively, which this competition encourages.”
