I am thrilled to begin my seventh year with the Firebird family and to continue serving as the Principal at Indian Knoll Elementary School. It is a privilege to work in a school with such rich traditions, high academic standards, and a strong, vibrant community. As a proud member of the “Firebird” family, I greatly value the opportunity to collaborate with parents, staff, and community members to nurture strong relationships, uphold academic excellence, and embrace innovative practices.

With 31 years of experience in education, my career has afforded me the opportunity to teach kindergarten and first grade, work with students with special needs in a variety of settings, and serve as an administrator. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in five different elementary schools, each offering a unique experience in terms of size, location, and student demographics. These experiences have provided me with a broad and diverse foundation in school leadership.

I hold a L6/T6 Georgia Educator’s Certificate in Educational Leadership (P-12), Early Childhood Education (P-5), Middle Grades (4-8) in five content areas, and Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) in five content areas (P-8). I earned my Specialist Degree in School Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University and have completed several doctoral courses. Recently, I participated in a CCSD administrative cohort and received my leadership coaching endorsement.

As a leader, my top priority is to focus on the needs of all stakeholders through open communication and visibility. To be an effective administrator, it is essential to be actively engaged in school activities, know the students by name, put smiles on their faces, and build positive relationships with the community. Every decision I make is guided by student safety, what is best for children, and the educational value of that choice. I continually assess whether school initiatives will positively impact our students and always strive to advocate for their best interests. I pride myself on being approachable, building professional relationships quickly, and remaining readily available to all stakeholders with a strong commitment to customer service.

Originally from Naperville, Illinois, I attended college in Long Island, New York, and have lived in Georgia since 1994. I now consider myself a true Southerner. I have two wonderful children: Alexa, a labor and delivery nurse in Americus, Georgia, and Jake, who serves in the U.S. Air Force and works in purchasing and procurement. I look forward to another exciting and rewarding year ahead!

Warm regards,
Ms. Kim Cerasoli

Jennifer Landry - Assistant Principal EMAIL

I’m a proud Indian Knoll Firebird!

My name is Jennifer Landry, and I’m the assistant principal for grades 3-5, car rider area traffic mover, Special Education Administrator, 504 Administrator/Chairperson, and the After-School Program (ASP) Coordinator.  I’m pleased to say that I simply love it here!

I am not a native Georgian, but I got here as quickly as I could!  I was born in Mississippi, but I grew up just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana in Slidell.  We moved back to Mississippi when I was in high school.  Already living in Mississippi was the chief reason I attended and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in December of 1994.  If I had still lived in Louisiana, I would have done my best to obtain a degree from Louisiana State University.  Although I didn’t attend LSU, don’t be surprised to see me supporting my tigers by wearing my purple and gold!!

I’ve been an educator for 30 years, and I consider myself a learner among learners.  Of those years, I taught for 10 years in grades 5-8, and in three different states – Mississippi, Texas, and Georgia.  Although I taught all subjects, I primarily taught science.  I have also been an administrator in CCSD for 19 years.  I have served as an administrator at Carmel ES, Johnston ES, Mountain Road ES, and now, I’m at home at Indian Knoll ES.

In my free time, I delight in spending time with my family.  I have two kids of my own, bonus kids including a precious daughter-in-law and son-in-law, and two of the most beautiful granddaughters – Caroline is in kindergarten, and Hayden is only 2, so she’s in daycare.  My son, Jacob “Jake”, works in the fire protection and safety industry, where he travels all over the southeast, my daughter-in-law, Macy, is a teacher at Hickory Flat Elementary here in Cherokee County. My daughter, Alexandra “Ali”, is a stylist and makeup artist at Studio 5 in downtown Canton, but she and my son-in-law, Christian, live in Ringgold. Christian is on a production team at Miller Industries near Chattanooga where he builds 18-wheeler tow trucks.

We are a family of dog lovers!  I have a 5-year-old mini-Dachshund, Dotty Mae, my daughter has two Corgis, Rosie and Lily, and my son and his wife have my other two granddogs, a Yorkie, named Bentley, and a Golden Retriever, named Scout.  Not only do I love spending time with my family, but I also love spending time with my dog and granddogs.

If I’m not with my family or with our dogs, you’ll most likely find me reading a book on my Kindle, in the kitchen cooking up yumminess or creating delicious recipes, at festivals where I might be selling some of the things I create or cook, or at competitions where I might be trying to win a prize for my cooking. I also love painting and crafting (wreaths, signs, jewelry, etc.)

Of all the things I take pleasure in, touching the lives of children, their families, and teachers is where I find the greatest joy.  I’m pleased to be able to serve CCSD as an administrator, but most of all, I’m pleased to serve the community of children, parents, and teachers of Indian Knoll ES.  I’m looking forward to another FANTASTIC year!!

Hello, I’m Angela Archer, and I’m thrilled to begin my sixth year at Indian Knoll Firebird family as an assistant principal. My primary assignment is to support grades kindergarten through second grade.

Education has been my chosen profession for the last 29 years. I began my career where I went to school - Clayton Elementary. During my thirteen years there, I taught Kindergarten, 3rd-5th grades, as well as EIP and ESOL in all grades. In 2009, I moved to Canton Elementary where I taught EIP and ESOL, and later became the Academic Facilitator.  Before becoming an Assistant Principal, I worked at the county office as a Title III coach supporting teachers and students in elementary schools across the district.  I am passionate about the education of all children!

I am a native Georgian and graduated from Cherokee High School. I continue to be a proud Cherokee county resident! After high school, I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State College.  I went on to complete my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education in Illinois and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Berry College. I also hold endorsements in Reading, ESOL, and Instructional Coaching. Recently, I became an Apple Certified Teacher. I am a life-long learner and continually strive to increase my professional knowledge.

On a personal note, I am married to my wonderful husband Don. We have a sweet Golden Doodle named Georgia Ann. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, and traveling (especially to warm destinations). On breaks, you may often find me camping, on a cruise, or visiting Mickey at Disney World!

I am delighted to have the opportunity to be able to serve the students, parents, teachers, and community of Indian Knoll Elementary. I am looking forward to an INCREDIBLE school year!
