Indian Knoll Elementary
I am very excited to start my fifth year with the Firebird family and to serve as the Principal at Indian Knoll Elementary School. I am honored to work in a school with rich traditions, high academic standards, and in a thriving community. As a member of the “Firebird” family, I value collaborating with parents and community members to continue strong business relationships, academic excellence, and innovative practices. I have been dedicated to the field of education for 29 years. During this time, my experiences include teaching kindergarten and first grade, working with students with special needs in a variety of settings, and being an administrator. I am fortunate to have worked as an administrator in five different elementary schools over the course of my career. My experiences have been in schools that are varied in size, area, and student demographics creating a broad level of administrative experience.
I hold a L6/T6 Georgia Educator’s’ Certificate in Educational Leadership (P-12), Early Childhood Education (P-5), Middle Grades (4-8) in five content areas, as well as Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) and in five content areas (P-8). I have my Specialist Degree in school leadership from Lincoln Memorial University and have taken several doctoral classes as well. Recently, I was part of a CCSD administrative cohort and received my leadership coaching endorsement.
My first priority is being a leader who focused on the needs of all stakeholders through open communication and visibility. To be an effective administrator it is important to be actively engaged in the building activities each day, know the children’s names, put smiles on their faces, and have a positive relationship with the community at large. With each decision I make, I always consider student safety, what is best for children, and the educational value of that choice. I evaluate if school initiatives will positively impact a student, and continually look out for students’ best interests. I am very approachable and have the ability to quickly build professional relationships. I pride myself on being “customer-service” focused and easily available to all stakeholders.
I am originally from Naperville, Illinois and went to college in Long Island, New York. I have lived in Georgia since 1994 and now consider myself a true Southerner. I have two older children: Alexa and Jake. Alexa is a Certified Nursing Assistant and is finishing up her BSN nursing classes at GA Southwestern University. Jake serves in the US Air Force and works in the purchasing and procurement department. I look forward to another wonderful year!

I’m a proud Indian Knoll Firebird!
My name is Jennifer Landry, and I’m the assistant principal for grades 3-5, car rider area traffic mover, Special Education Administrator, 504 Administrator/Chairperson, and the After-School Program (ASP) Coordinator. I’m pleased to say that I’m beginning my sixth year as an administrator at IKES! I simply love it here!
I am not a native Georgian, but I got here as quickly as I could! I was born in Mississippi, but I grew up just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana in Slidell. We moved back to Mississippi when I was in high school. Already living in Mississippi was the chief reason I attended and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in December of 1994. If I had still lived in Louisiana, I would have done my best to obtain a degree from Louisiana State University. Although I didn’t attend LSU, don’t be surprised to see me supporting my tigers by wearing my purple and gold!!
I’ve been an educator for the past 27 years, and I consider myself a learner among learners. Of those 2 years, I taught for 10 years in grades 5-8, and in three different states – Mississippi, Texas, and Georgia. Although I taught all subjects, the primary subject I taught was science. I have also been an administrator in CCSD for the last 17 years. I have served as an administrator at Carmel ES, Johnston ES, Mountain Road ES, and now, I’m at home at Indian Knoll ES.
In my free time, I delight in spending time with my family. I have two kids of my own, bonus kids including a precious daughter-in-law and son-in-law, and the most beautiful two-year-old granddaughter ever with another beautiful (I’m already sure!) granddaughter due to be born in early August! My daughter, Alexandra “Ali”, is a stylist and makeup artist at Studio 5 in downtown Canton. My son, Jacob “Jake”, works in the fire protection and safety industry, where he travels all over the southeast, my daughter-in-law, Macy, is a first-grade teacher at Boston Elementary here in Cherokee County, and my son-in-law, Christian, is on a production team at Miller Industries where he builds 18-wheeler tow trucks.
We are a family of dog lovers! I have a 2-year-old mini-Dachshund, Dotty, my daughter has a six-year-old American Bulldog/Lab mix, Gunner, and my son and his wife have my other two granddogs, an American Bulldog, Bella, and a Yorkie, Bentley. Not only do I love spending time with my family, but I also love spending time with my dog and granddogs.
If I’m not with my family or with my dogs, you’ll most likely find me reading a book on my Kindle, in the kitchen cooking up yumminess or creating delicious recipes, at festivals where I might be selling some of the things I cook, or at competitions where I might be trying to win a prize for my cooking. I also love painting and crafting (wreaths, signs, jewelry, etc.)
Of all the things I take pleasure in, touching the lives of children, their families, and teachers is where I find the greatest joy. I’m pleased to be able to serve CCSD as an administrator, but most of all, I’m pleased to serve the community of children, parents, and teachers of Indian Knoll ES. I’m looking forward to another FANTASTIC year!!
Angela Archer - Assistant Principal EMAIL
Hello, I’m Angela Archer, and I’m thrilled to begin my fourth year at Indian Knoll Firebird family as an assistant principal. My primary assignment is to support grades kindergarten through second grade.
Education has been my chosen profession for the last 26 years. I began my career where I went to school - Clayton Elementary. During my thirteen years there, I taught Kindergarten, 3rd-5th grades, as well as EIP and ESOL in all grades. In 2009, I moved to Canton Elementary where I taught EIP and ESOL, and later became the Academic Facilitator. Before becoming an Assistant Principal, I worked at the county office as a Title III coach supporting teachers and students in elementary schools across the district. I am passionate about the education of all children!
I am a native Georgian and graduated from Cherokee High School. I continue to be a proud Cherokee county resident! After high school, I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State College. I went on to complete my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education in Illinois and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Berry College. I also hold endorsements in Reading, ESOL, and Instructional Coaching. Recently, I became an Apple Certified Teacher. I am a life-long learner and continually strive to increase my professional knowledge.
On a personal note, I am married to my wonderful husband Don. We have a sweet Golden Doodle named Georgia Ann. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, and traveling (especially to warm destinations). On breaks, you may often find me camping, on a cruise, or visiting Mickey at Disney World!
I am delighted to have the opportunity to be able to serve the students, parents, teachers, and community of Indian Knoll Elementary. I am looking forward to an INCREDIBLE school year!
